SPIRITUAL EXERCISES TO WORK WITH YOUR DREAMS
These simple exercises are to be done just before you go
to sleep. There is no effort necessary, simply a sincere desire to receive the
benefits that can come to you through the dream state. The techniques are so
simple, you may doubt their effects, but truth is always simple. Try them. This
is the way to test them.
TO REMEMBER DREAMS
Fill your mind with thoughts of someone that you love. Pick someone
uncomplicated that you have few issues with. Now is not the time to practice
unconditional love on someone! It can even be a pet, if you like. Anyone or
anything that you love.
Doing this will fill you heart with love. After you feel this
love, softly sing or chant to yourself the word "HU" (pronounced like
the name Hugh), placing your attention on the forehead or third eye area. HU is
an ancient name for God. and is considered by some religions to be the highest
vibration it is possible to chant on this plane.
Do this for about four to five minutes. Then try one of the
following exercises. This is a good way to begin to open to spiritual dreaming,
or any kind of dream work. It also alters your brain chemistry.
A CHANTING METHOD TO REMEMBER YOUR DREAMS
Do the preceding exercise and then take a deep breath. Then, start spelling
out the word DREAM. Take each letter and softly sing them to yourself three
times: D-R-E-A-M, D-R-E-A-M, D-R-E-A-M. Draw out each letter, like this: Deeee,
Rrrrr, Eeeee, Aaaaa, Mmmm. Next, chant the word DREAM for a few minutes. Then
just go to sleep.
OTHER WORDS TO USE WITH THE PRECEDING EXERCISE: L-O-V-E,
W-I-S-D-O-M, T-R-U-T-H, F-R-E-E-D-O-M, L-E-T G-O, R-E-M-E-M-B-E-R,
P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E, G-R-A-C-E, T-R-U-S-T, ETC.
ANOTHER WAY TO REMEMBER DREAMS
First, pick a night that you will have no problem getting up the next
morning. Like a weekend night. Set an alarm to wake you about two hours before
you would normally get up. When you are awakened by the alarm you will probably
have been in the middle of a dream. Write it down then, without the distractions
of having to shower, get breakfast, make deadlines, etc. This is about
developing habits for remembering dreams.
WATER GLASS TECHNIQUE
Pour water in a glass. As your pour it say out loud: "As I pour this
water, it represents the dreams that I will have tonight and all of the memories
of these dreams." Place it by your bedside. Take a few sips before
retiring, and as you do, say to yourself "As I drink this water, it fills
me with the ability remember my dreams with great clarity". Then just go to
sleep. When you awaken, take a few more sips, saying "As I drink this
water, it enables me to remember my dreams easier and easier everyday".
Write down anything that comes to you. This is a simple,
ancient technique, used by aboriginal tribes.
THE "HAND" TECHNIQUE
After you can remember your dreams and are somewhat aware you are
dreaming... Try to notice your hand, in your dream, as you are dreaming. If you
do this, you can focus on the hand and use it to anchor your consciousness in
the dream, helping you to become more aware of yourself as the dreamer, in your
dreaming. As you become more aware, you can leave the "pre-set" dream
and start flying, visiting people, places etc.!
OBJECTS THAT "BRIDGE THE GAP"
As you drift off, place your attention on something in your room. A dresser, the
closet door, chair, etc. Bring your awareness of this object with you into the
dream state. This can help you begin to become aware of leaving your body as you
are going to sleep. It can act as a kind of bridge to the other side.
While you are focused give yourself the command to awaken in
your dream, aware of the dreaming. Failing to maintain concentration will not
harm you in any way. You'll just go to sleep naturally.
WATCH THE WATCH...
Get yourself an inexpensive wrist watch what beeps every hour on the hour.
When it beeps, pay close attention, and say to yourself each time, "I
easily remember my dreams." When you go to sleep, wear the watch. When it
beeps in the night, while you are dreaming, the sound of the alarm can help you
realize you are dreaming. Take the sound of the watch into your dreams and let
it help you become lucid and aware. After you are aware you are dreaming, you
can change the dream to anything that you wish.
Say to yourself three times "A, A, A" breathing in and then out
slowing with each letter. Then go to "B, B, B" and repeat; then
"C, C, C". Then see yourself going down a hallway with a door at the
end. Open the door slowly and know that the Dream Master or your Guide is on the
other side of the door. Invite them to take you to the places that you have
ASK FOR HELP
Before you go to sleep at night, when just beginning to drift off, ask for
an Angel, Guide or Master to come to you in the dream to help you with a
problem, instruct you, take you to another plane, help you with a problem, to
fill you with love -- ask for whatever you want!
LIGHT ON THE THIRD EYE
Gently place your attention on the forehead area, the so called third eye or
spiritual eye. Imagine that a bright white light is shining down onto the area
and into your head.
Softly chant a word such as God, Love, HU, etc. as you keep
your attention on this area. Feel the light expand and let your awareness expand
with it. Invite the "Dream Master" into your awareness now and invite
them in your dream. Set no limits or expectations, simply go with him or her.
PAST LIFE DREAM RECALL TECHNIQUE
Imagine orange light beaming into either the right side of your jaw, (the
joint area), or the right eye. As you breath, imagine that you are breathing
into this point. (Either one). As you breath out, softly chant or sing the word
Hoo-Kee. (Pronounced like Who-Key). This will activate spiritual points for
remembering the past lives.
Place your attention on a point about an inch above the ridge at the back of
the head. Feel it, there is often and indentation here. Imagine white light
beaming into the spot, as you breath in and out with your attention placed here.
As you breath out, softly sing or chant the letter "Z-zzzzz",
pronounced "Z-e-e-e-e". Do this for about ten minutes. Then invite the
Dream Master or your Guardian Angel to take you in your dreams to the places you
GETTING ANSWERS IN DREAMS
Just before you go to sleep, relax and decide that you will get your answer
to a question while in your dreams. Say to yourself: The answer to what I want
to know is ion my dreams. I am shown the answer in my dream.
When you awaken it will be the first thought in your mind. Be
sure that you write it down right away.
Our minds know the answers to almost anything. What holds us
back is our attitudes about situations and things. When we relax and let it work
out in your dream state, we can access the higher wisdom more easily.
WHAT IF NOTHING WORKS?
If you cannot remember anything, even though you have tried every technique
for a while, give yourself the command "I will not remember my dreams
Sometimes this will work when nothing else will. It is
sometimes called reverse psychology or the Law of reverse effort.
Relax and have fun with this. Give it time, have patience.
